Emergency plumbing Edgecliff
Rowena, Jill and Paula lived in a 2 bedroom apartment in Edgecliff. Rowena owned the house and the others had been her class mates in school. Now, they were all working girls living together, working hard and having fun.
In the last few days, the girls had begun to notice a strong smell of mildew within the house. It was strongest where the washing machine stood, a little to the side of their large kitchen. On the days when they ran the washing machine , the smell was less although it could still be felt in the corner. It was on the days that the machine was left unused that they had the biggest problem. On some days, the stench was so strong that they had to throw open the windows to get rid of it.
One Friday, the girls decided to do something about the smell. After the day’s work was over, they gathered around the pipe that led into the wall. Gingerly, they managed to work the pipe free of the wall. The moment the pipe was out, the room was filled with the smell.
The girls ran to rinse out the pipe thinking that there must be some debris inside. But nothing came out of the pipe. Then they tried to clean out the pipe leading out of the house with some warm water and a drain cleaning liquid.
But the stench was back with a vengeance the next morning. Over breakfast, they decided that they had better call a plumber to take a look at the pipe.
Now, if only they knew who to call!
Although Rowena’s parents had owned the house before her, they had never really stayed there. Rowena herself had moved to Edgecliffe a year back following her split up with her long term boyfriend. This was their first plumbing problem.
At first, they looked up the Yellow Pages and made a few calls. But none of the plumbers paid them a visit. Three days had gone by and there was a mound of washing. Now, they were beginning to panic.

True to their word, the plumber from Edgecliff visited them that evening. After inspecting the problem, he got to work immediately.
“Smell’s backing up from your sewage”, he explained as he started work.
It took him an hour to fix the problem completely. But, finally, he had it fixed, and he had even cleaned up after himself. Their kitchen corner was spotless after the plumber was through. The girls were thrilled and decided to keep the plumber’s number on their fridge, in case of emergencies.
