Blocked drain repairs Edgecliff

Zelda was late for work. She knew it without looking at the little lavender clock that was blinking accusingly at her. That morning, things had just gone wrong one after the other.

She had woken half an hour later than usual as her alarm did not go off. Then, she had jammed her hand in the door! Just as she was about to dash out of the house forgoing breakfast, her mom had called for a long talk.

Finally, she managed to wrap things up fifteen minutes later than usual and decided to go although her stomach was growling with hunger. Just as she was about to leave, she noticed something. Her kitchen sink was not draining. Last night’s water was still standing in one of the bowls of her double drain, replete with oil and bits of food.

The previous evening, she had rinsed and washed plates and pans, filling her bowls with water and rinsing each one off. In the end, she had just unplugged the sink and gone to bed.

‘Darn and double darn’, Zelda cursed as she ducked into the bottom of the kitchen cupboard to retrieve the plunger. She then proceeded to plunge vigorously. At first, nothing happened. Then, she heard a loud whoosh and felt the wetness all over her feet. The drain pipe below had given way and there was dirty water all over her floor!

‘There goes my breakfast and my early morning meeting with the client’, she thought as she threw off her stockings and began to clean up.

Half an hour later, the kitchen was reasonably clean. Making a mental note to call the plumber, Zelda left for work.

Fortunately for Zelda, her regular plumber was a gem. She called them from her office and told them her situation with the blocked drain. From previous experience, she knew they would be right on time.

As she had expected, the plumber was at her doorstep in the evening. The young man got to work immediately. He looked at the old drainpipes.

“It’s better to change these, you know”, he said pointing to the dirty old drain pipes.

“Go ahead”, she said. She had full faith in his work and knew from previous experience that he would not recommend something that was not required.

He was through in an hour, cleaning up everything thoroughly. He then filled the sink with water and used the plunger a number of times just so she was sure of the quality of work.

As before, Zelda was very happy with their customer service. Little wonder that this emergency blocked drain plumber got calls from clients as far away as Bellevue Hill, Darling Point, Double Bay, Woollahra, North Bondi, the Eastern Suburbs and Rose Bay. They were really that good!
